THE DIFFERENT SKIN TONES

In a very distant past, the sun was coloring the skin of men in different ways according to the climatology of the continents.

What is melanin?

Throughout the world, the color of men’s skin changes from black to so-called “white”, through light brown, yellow, and even golden red. Melanin is what creates these differences: it is a coloring matter that our skin contains and that protects it from dangerous ultraviolet rays. The stronger the Sun hits, the more our skin defends itself by manufacturing melanin.

Freckles

Some fair skin contains small groups of very active cells, which make a large amount of melanin. Freckles appear precisely where these small clumps are found.

Primitive men: same color

According to the sages, primitive men all had dark skin. The epidermis of the inhabitants of Europe gradually cleared up, while the epidermis of the Africans became darker. So it is the Sun that has made some men black.

A world full of colors

If a child has parents of a different color, he is called a mestizo.
