Know the most important guidelines for exercising and stimulating a baby

The first years of life are essential for the development of the baby. The period in which the most neural connections are created is the one from 0 to 6 years old. This is when early stimulation techniques favor the evolution of the child’s abilities and skills.

We are going to talk about exercises designed for each stage of the child’s growth . It is convenient to do them when the child is calm and relaxed, respecting his rhythm of food and sleep .

0-12 months

Massage him with cream or oil, slowly and talking to him. Put him face down with toys in front or face up with toys on the sides, so that he tries to grasp them. Lay him on a blanket and lift him slightly to help him with the roll over reflex. It is important that you hold our thumb with your little hand. A mirror is ideal to recognize your body and its movements and it will be good if we leave it fixed in your room during your childhood. Call him by his name and talk to him, explain him while making gestures related to what you are telling him.

1-2 years

It is interesting that he knows different textures , in his clothes and in what surrounds him. You can recite the parts of the body to him and also put various leaves and colors within his reach so that he begins to express himself. Let him begin to look at the daily processes and imitate them: washing, combing his hair, picking up his things, setting the table, etc …

2-3 years

They can now sort things out and they really enjoy it: sorting clothes, sorting toys, organizing the shopping… It’s all about making it fun. You will be surprised how focused he can be if you give him precise instructions and congratulate him on his collaboration: here the brushes, there the boxes; socks on one side, t-shirts on the other or we are going to put all the cans together.

It is time for songs and stories at all hours , stimulating their memory and their curiosity. Also to teach him hygiene guidelines such as washing hands, brushing teeth and going to the bathroom correctly, as well as respect for the things of others. Please thank you and with permission they should be in your vocabulary.

3-4 years

Create your own story from images you choose and cut out. Dance with steps and improvised. Draw freely. Put together puzzles. Ask him about his feelings and emotions, chat with him as much as possible. Let him choose his clothes, get dressed and undress.

4-6 years

Walk toe, heel and following a line. Go to the park, run and jump . Work play dough and clay . Buildings. Up and down, in front, behind, near, far. Begin to tell stories within the everyday. Play with other children and get to know your family by the names and even ages of some.

Broadly speaking, this is what is recommended for each year of the child’s life. But always think that the stimulation is in every time you make the little participant of their environment. Everything is new to him and if you show him how things work and encourage him to try it, he will surely be a smart and active child . The same goes for personal relationships. Try to say hello, say goodbye, and be friendly and polite, interacting with those around you. This is very easy to achieve: you only have to behave like this and he will imitate you.
