Conflicts in the classroom are a very serious matter that must be dealt with prudently and effectively to resolve and restore coexistence in the class as soon as possible.
They are basically divided into four types: physical, verbal, mixed or social exclusion abuse .
To solve them, the ideal would be to act jointly from different areas such as: the school, the family and the media.
Remove from the foundations and advocate for an education in values, a healthy environment of coexistence and, above all, the improvement of interpersonal relationships, so necessary in the face of the inevitable invasion of technology in our lives.
Each case is unique depending on the school, the grade, the personal characteristics of the group, etc … But we can define common lines of action that will help prevent conflicts from arising or going further.
The teacher must study how to adapt them to the particular case with which he faces . Only he really knows his students and is able to create a help material based on these principles that can resolve the conflict and make the group reflect on their actions until the problem is solved.
Proposals for intervention
- Encourage dialogue as the beginning of resolution
Students must speak and communicate, everyone without exception must give their point of view and share it to debate from normality and respect. Conflicts are part of life and this should be a lesson to manage them maturely and find the best way to end them. The teacher must pave the way for this to happen by developing fluent and free communication in the classroom.
- Democratize school coexistence
Getting the group to make democratic decisions and self-govern is essential to prevent conflict. Responsible and conscientious students will be better prepared to deal with differences that arise.
- Educate in values
Everything happens around here. Students must recognize respect, the dignity of the human being, empathize with their peers despite differences, help those who need it, understanding that the benefit is mutual and be aware that now it is the classroom, but their participation as a responsible citizen it will be extrapolated to the city and to the world, a place that the teacher must consider as an objective to improve from the new generations that he himself is training.
- Encourage cooperation
Attempts should be made to promote group collaboration avoiding individualism and competitiveness. Get their own well-being to be related to the group so that the child can see the interrelation and dependency that characterize daily coexistence.
- Teach them to self-control emotions
For this you have to bring them closer to the emotions of others, that they can understand and respect them. So they can handle their own. Manage your impulses and channel them. Become aware of their feelings and emotions in order to control and work properly without affecting the group in a negative way.
If these principles can be implemented in the classroom, we will have a lot of cattle, the teachers and, above all, the students. And if conflicts appear that are otherwise unavoidable, we can resolve them conveniently and at the same time evolve all while we do it.
