Brand history
Maybach is a German car brand. Maybach (German: Maybach) and Maybach Engine Factory (German: Maybach motorenbau GmbH) were German super luxury car brands and manufacturers which were active in Europe from 1921 to 1940.
Wilhelm Maybach, the father of Karl Maybach, the founder of the car factory, was the chief technical officer of Daimler engine company (the predecessor of today’s Daimler group), and the two plants have a deep relationship. In 1997, DaimlerChrysler group exhibited a concept super luxury four door sedan named Maybach at the Tokyo Motor Show, officially reviving the German car brand after years of disappearance.
However, due to poor market performance, Maybach series cars have been completely discontinued in 2013. On November 19, 2014, Mercedes Benz officially released its new sub brand Mercedes mebach in Guangzhou. Meanwhile, the brand’s first model, the Maybach S-class, was officially launched in the world.
